Planning Your Summer Events

Summer Events

Summer events are one of the best parts of June, July and August! Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, there are a variety of different events that you can organize. However, with the heat waves and the holidays, summer events are important to start planning early. We gathered tips and suggestions below to throw the best summer event yet!

Consider the Date

There are several holidays and dates that are best to avoid over the summer months. Families like to go out of town Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day, so avoid planning events for those weekends. If you do want to throw an event during that time, get your event invitations out as early as you can!

Book the Venue

Summer events can range from BBQs to pool parties, but those kinds of events require specific venues. Since summer is a popular time of year to throw events, bookings happen earlier than usual at venues. Once a date has been decided, book the venue to ensure you have your first choice option.

Consider the Menu

If your event is outdoors on a hot day, your menu shouldn’t include particularly hot or cold foods. Keep in mind shade and covering for food, so that the buffet doesn’t get consumed by the insects! Drinks should be cool and refreshing, and anything with cucumber and mint is a hit during the summer!

Create Shade

A fun and retro way to create shade at your outdoor event is a vintage Airstream! You can also create cabanas, put up teepees or just have very large umbrellas! You do not want your guests overheating at your event, so make sure to give them shady options.

Enjoy your fun in the sun this summer with our tips for planning summer events!
