Form, Function, & Whiteboards – CTIA Tradeshow

CTIA Tradeshow, Las Vegas

Spending 25 years traveling the globe producing events, we occasionally find ourselves in our creative hub of Las Vegas!  The FW crew dove headfirst into the CTIA tradeshow and achieved applause post event.  Collaborating Sprint, the most reliable network, transforming the Venetian ballroom space was a walk in the park for our experienced team.  Events, exhibits, and productions are what we do best.

For this week long technology conference our design team & project managers were tasked with creating three large sound proof meeting rooms.  The team quickly huddled prepared CAD drawings, elevation drawings & build mechanicals to set the event in motion. Sound proof walls stood 12ft tall and helped with the acoustics while the custom pentagon shaped conference table, seated 28 guests with charging capabilities and an 80″ monitor for the presentation.  Pentagon shaped rooms added form and function with custom made doors on two sides for guests to enter and exit.  The design was kept minimal with a custom reception desk, charging lounge, and of course areas to keep you fueled up with antioxidants and energy as you explore the show floor.  Idea paint allowed menu’s and messaging to change daily as we could simply write on the walls.

The goal of the lighting was to make the cream ornate walls and sconces disappear and create a soothing meeting environment.  We achieved this by adding 250 floor LED lights with beams rising upward and focussed meeting room lights from the above rigg .   Working directly with the inhouse rigging team our designers set the lighting plot in motion.

Installation began with the truss, rigging, power drops, followed by lighting focus, carpet being laid and finally the installation team setting the walls and design elements.  The fun began when we the dry erase white board walls and snack bars were installed along with food carts and the white canvas was washed in yellow lighting.
