FW was all in during COVID to create a one of a kind experience making sure pride plans were not cancelled. The ask was to not only bring people together in AltSpace VR but to produce the world’s first ever Pride event in Virtual Reality and make it hybrid with an IRL experience on the ground in Vegas.
We sought out sponsors to get involved and found many brands eager to participate and support this first of its kind PrideXR which turned out to be an action packed week of events. As we began our venture into the Metaverse we found brands like Bud Light, Interpride, and Clexacon, ready to create PrideXR with us. Bud Light became a sponsor and made goggles available to SF Giants Stadium for SF Pride attendees to get a sneak peak of the experience in the Bay Area. Once in the headset Pride attendees in SF could head down to the dugout as our onsite attendants helped them navigate the headset and visit the vr floats and parade we created in VR.
Thanks to Revry Networks and their collaboration with McDonalds we were able to host a McDonalds sponsored dance party full of moving lights, avatars and DJ’s spinning in House of Pride, the new original show. CEO, Damian Pelliccione took the stage as an avatar. Later in the week we opened the world again for a Hybrid Comedy show IRL at StarBase, a new event venue in LV, using a hologram and turning comedians into Avatars. We also booked 12 different live bands and performers, aerialists and singers on a Saturday night to celebrate pride and stream performances into the virtual world. This was just the beginning of our venture into the Metaverse. PrideXR will continue to be an annual event.
